A home for native wildlife
Pinehaven is a wildlife sanctuary set among the gum trees, caring for koalas, kangaroos, wombats and dozens of other native animals. Wander the trails, join a keeper talk, and spend an unhurried day in the bush.
Who lives here
More than thirty native species call Pinehaven home. Here are a few you're likely to say hello to on your visit.

The largest of Australia's marsupials lounges on our open lawn. During feeding time you can watch keepers hand out their favourite pellets.
Sturdy, burrowing and surprisingly quick, our wombats are crowd favourites. Meet them on the twilight-habitat trail near the fern gully.
One of the few mammals that lay eggs, echidnas snuffle for ants with a long snout. Look closely and you might catch one on the move.
Loud, clever and full of character, our cockatoos raise their golden crests to say hello. Join the afternoon feeding for a closer look.
Gentle and slow-moving, these skinks flash a startling blue tongue when surprised. A keeper favourite for close, calm encounters.

To keep our koalas calm and comfortable, visits are viewing-only from the boardwalk. Our keepers share plenty of close, respectful encounters with other animals during the day's talks.
